Los Angeles (November 17, 2023) – Leading talent advisory firm DHR Global is proud to announce that Dan Guerrero has joined the firm as Partner in the Sports Practice Group based in Los Angeles.
As one of the most decorated college athletic administrators in history, Guerrero will contribute to the continued growth of the Sports Practice as a strategic partner, advisor, and consultant to DHR’s clients. A key addition to the practice, which exclusively consists of sports industry practitioners, he brings over 30 years of experience including extensive expertise in leading D1 programs.

Prior to Guerrero’s executive search career, he served as Director of Athletics at UCLA for 18 years, where his institution won 32 NCAA National Championships in 15 different sports. While at UCLA, he was responsible for hiring eight head coaches who eventually won NCAA Division I Championships. Guerrero also served as Director of Athletics at UC Irvine and California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Guerrero has held various positions with leading industry associations which include, President of the Division I Athletic Director’s Association (Lead1), President of the National Association of Collegiate Director of Athletics (NACDA), and Chair of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Committee.
In 2023, Guerrero was recognized by the Lead1 Association with the Homer Rice Award for his meaningful and significant contributions to intercollegiate athletics. He is also the recipient of the James J. Corbett Memorial Award from NACDA in 2022 and was inducted into the NACDA Hall of Fame in 2021. Guerrero is also a recipient of the National Football Foundation’s John L. Toner Award in 2017 for his superior administrative abilities and dedication to college athletics, particularly football.
Guerrero received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California and earned a master’s degree in public administration from California State University-Dominguez-Hills. He currently serves as President of the United States International University Sports Federation, the governing body for U.S. global university sports, and on the board of directors for the Los Angeles Sports Council, the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, the Institute for Sport and Social Justice, the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Revelxp, a premier fan experience and event hospitality company.
