Sara is DHR’s Managing Partner, Nonprofit and leads the firm’s Nonprofit search practice for North America. She specializes in the recruitment of leaders for mission-driven organizations around the globe.

Sara brings more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience to her work which spans executive search, organizational assessment, and leadership transitions. She works across the health, research, human service, and conservation spaces to identify talent in the areas of executive leadership, finance, fundraising, and operations. Her clients include a range of nonprofits such as Child Mind Institute, The Rockefeller Foundation, Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), Vera Institute, Guttmacher Institute, and The Nature Conservancy.
Sara began her career as a journalist at The Wall Street Journal’s SmartMoney magazine. She later became a nonprofit fundraising leader, working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals to raise funds for organizations including Absolute Return for Kids US, Children for Children (now GenerationOn), and The Children’s Aid Society. She brings her in-house perspective to each of her engagements.
Sara is recognized at DHR as a Top Performer and Culture Champion and she is a member of the firm’s Executive Operations Committee and DEI Council. She is supported by a skilled team with experience working across nonprofits. Sara earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bryn Mawr College. In her free time, she hikes and volunteers with reproductive health nonprofit Brigid Alliance, and ACP, coaching veterans who aim to transition to the civilian world.
