Dan serves as Partner in the Sports Practice Group, based out of the Los Angeles office. As one of the most decorated college athletic directors in history, Dan brings over 30 years of experience in the sports industry, with extensive experience in D1 athletic programs.

Prior to Dan’s executive search career, he served as the Director of Athletics at UCLA for 18 years, where his institution won 32 NCAA National Championships in 15 different sports. While at UCLA, he was responsible for hiring eight head coaches who eventually won NCAA Championships. Dan also served as Director of Athletics at UC Irvine and California State University, Dominguez Hills.
He has held various positions with leading industry associations which include, President of the Division 1 Athletic Director’s Association (Lead1), President of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), and Chair of the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Committee.
In 2023, Dan was recognized by the Lead1 Association with the Homer Rice Award for his meaningful and significant contributions to intercollegiate athletics. He is the recipient of the James J. Corbett Memorial Award from NACDA in 2022 and was inducted in the NACDA Hall of Fame in 2021. Dan is also the recipient of the National Football Foundation’s John L. Toner Award in 2017 for his superior administrative abilities and dedication to college athletics and particularly in football.
Dan received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA, where he competed for the Bruins on their baseball team. He was inducted into the UCLA Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996. Dan also earned a master’s degree in public administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
He currently serves as President of UniUSA, the governing body for U.S. global university sports, and on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, the Huddle (formerly the Institute for Sport and Social Justice), the Los Angeles Sports Council, the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Revelxp, a premier fan experience and event hospitality company.
